Memorable Early Season Bluefin Tuna Bite
The early season Cape Cod Bay tuna bite has been excellent. Pal Dan Cambria landed a 92 inch beast on spin gear. The fish of a lifetime. Great job!

Excellent Spring Striper Fishing
As the calendar turns to June the Cape Cod Canal and the upper reaches of Buzzards and Narragansett Bays are fishing very well. Some would argue the Narragansett Bay fishing has been the best it has been in quite a few years. Teeth (bluefish, yellow eyed devil, etc) are around; but seemingly not a prolific as other seasons. The upcoming moon tides have folks pouring over Google earth and looking for the rock that might produce the personal best striped bass. Hot lures include mackerel and sea herring for the Canal. Here are some proven winners :

Aquidneck Turns On
The early season excitement is always on the Upper the Bay and the Cape Cod Canal and understandably so. With little fanfare as the water warms the fishing on Aquidneck Island starts to find it’s form. The island provides excellent and various structure for the fisherman. In fact most any structure save tidal creeks (very few) and sand flats (my lips are sealed) are here on Aquidneck Island. This past we the fishing around the island improved with reports of topwater bass on the reefs and bass in the boulders.
Stripers on the Fly Rod
Lots of options for the long wand. Worms had a resurgence on the salt ponds last week, the flats are on fire, bass are taking flies on the reef and dock light action is full of sweet surprises. I will say it with pictures as those on the lookout for opportunities are having a blast. Judge by the smiles (not you Adam)
